Southwest Vista

16" x 20" Oil, $600

I often comment on what a joy making art is for me.

Now, not always! Yesterday I painted for several hours,

and am not happy with anything from that whole session.

But this one...I love it and I loved creating it.

It evolved from a painting that looked nothing like this

finished product.

There are many layers of traditional oil paint

as well as many layers of pure pigment oil paint.

It must go to a good home.

Contemporary Landscape, "Mountain View," by Amy Whitehouse

12" x 12" Oil $150

A contemporary landscape with strong linear elements and pastel embellishments,

this small work has a big message.

Don't be afraid of the mountaintop.

In fact, climb the mountain and revel in the view.

Land of Enchantment, Southwest Landscape Paintings by Arizona Artist Amy Whitehouse

12" x 16", Oil on Stretched Canvas, $295

Painted with juicy R&F pigment sticks,

this landscape painting says New Mexico to me.

I don't understand how the sky can "be bigger" here

in the Southwest,

but for this kid from Florida, it truly is.

The clouds are enormous, the land goes on and on,

the distant mountains are luscious.
